I know.... it's been a while... this whole 4 out of my 5 classes are studio classes is turning out to be a lot more than you thought. Especially with the last class being Italian 102. Plus managing 3 jobs, I am proud of you. Now you can relax for this upcoming break and hopefully do a few side projects. I know... no fancy layout this week, but really.... this is just for you anyways. .... A few of these decided not to load.... It's okay

Although I promised to upload a more detailed list, this is really just for me anyways. Here are some picture of somethings I have been up to 

The title kinda speaks for itself. However, I know I said I was going to go back to the regular format in my last post... but I lied. I am just going to post some progress updates of what I have been up to these past few weeks. NEXT WEEK, I will go back to the regular format. I promise <3

I have officially cut out social media and all other forms of digital media. I just straight up took it off my phone. This allows me to focus time more intentionally on things that I love, instead of wasting valuable time on things that don't matter to me. Over these past few weeks I have been fairly productive. Nothing too exhausting, only because I wanted to enjoy the rest of my winter break. I will again choose to write this down in one large chunk bullet point instead of breaking it up into sections. Next week starts the first week of school for me, so you will see things back to a more normal format. 

Lists of things I did that progress my art (No particular order)

• Purchased Magic the Gathering: Concepts and Legends, so far great book. My purchase has definitely been worth it. I have already started about thinking about new worlds to create.
• Purchased Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter. While reaching out to some professors during break to excel my progress past the normal restrictions of the class, one of my newest professors suggested me this book.
• I am officially a card illustrator and art director for MMPC. I'll be illustrating 15 cards with them this semester as well as directing and making some art direction.
• Finished Sabastiano's album cover
• Retired an old sketchbook. Out with the old and in with the new.
• Blessed a new sketchbook. As well as decorating the covers, you have done lots of work on the inside already. Keep it up.
• Painted Door Decs for Residents. Just did some quick icons for door decs this upcoming semester. I painted them traditionally and then printed them out.
• Brainstormed about you new worlds
• Started some character and environment direction for your character Bella Belle

Since the holiday season has sprung up, nothing seems to be going quite right. This holiday season was definitely not your normal go around. It was more abnormal than last year. You focused a lot this week on recovering from your sickness and making connections, rather than producing art. It's just been hard, you've been very worn out these past few days. Below I have listed some highlights about the break. I don't intend on posting any photo updates right now. 

Overall updates in no particular order or category

• Started playing FF14
• Got some amazing art gifts such as some more Tombow marker, blank postcards, and a really neat watercolor set.
• Started a sketch of your yearly Christmas Eve Zombie. You weren't in the mood of bringing it much further
• Met and Spoke with Max from Maximum Majesty Playing card about a trading card game they are producing
• You created a follow up meeting with Max
• Reached out to Archetype Entertainment regarding an internship
• Sketched up some ideas for possible cards for Max
• Took lots of naps and cuddled with Bandit, the best boxer in all the land.
• Finished Michael's Christmas present 
• Worked on Michael's Anniversary present 

... Okay, now it's time for a nap. lol....

WOOF! Boy Howdy has it be an overwhelming 2 weeks. Can't believe I created over 700+ Products for C2E2 and crushed my finals a week after. Absolutely mind blowing. I feel like I ended this semester strong which is great. I have an A in all my classes, minus the B+ in my Freud class.... One of my finals is going to be a portfolio piece hands-down. Since I didn't update last week because of C2E2, I am going to leave a separate section of this weeks post for C2E2. I do believe I will be posting every Friday throughout my break as I don't plan to stop making art over break. I think I am just going to slow down a bit instead and focus on more conceptual and world building pieces. 

You're a little upset that all of a sudden Wizards of the Coast just put an application deadline out recently. For record, when you orginally submitted there was no deadline, so you panicked to get it in ASAP. You feel a little distraught, maybe you should have waited. However, that didn't stop you. You still believe! If it's meant to happen, it will and if not, there is always next year.

C2E2

• Spoke with MetaZoo
  • You spoke with a trading card company called MetaZoo. You reached out to their Art Director inquiring about new artists. Although they were not looking for artists at the moment, he placed you on their artist to reach out to list when they are. I say that's a win.
• Met and Exchanged Contacts with Aaron Miller
  • You met with MTG Artist Aaron Miller. You discussed about where your portfolio should go next. He's a very nice guy and hes awfully insightful. You should reach out to him when it's time to find a mentor in Studio 2.
• You made profit, saw your friends and family, and ate DELICIOUS RAMEN
  • All good things were listed above. It was nice to see that all my friends came out to support me. Including my mom and dad. My friends and I went out for Ramen at Strings. I was already aware on how fantastic strings was, but by god it hits different with a room full of your friends.

School 

• You ended the semester with a BANG
  • You ended up with an A in all your classes.... Minus Freud
  • 
  • You finished all your finals on time.

    • Only almost cried once

YO!!! You did it! You submitted your application to Wizards of the Coast. How exciting, now you just get to sit back and relax.... WELL not really, you have C2E2. One week from today you'll be greeted with tons and tons of con members. This will be your first con in 2 years and it will be your first time at C2E2. And you got a KILLER spot, luck of the draw, booth A11. You're probably going to post your update on Thursday because you'll be at C2E2 on Friday. Anyways, time for the wrap up.

Forgot to mention this in last weeks post, I am taking this week to relax. Overall the week has been good. You finally started working on some Christmas presents! Anyways, if anyone else reads these things... Happy Holidays. I'll post my next blog post this Friday.

This week you focused a lot on getting products ready for C2E2 and preparing a resume and cover letter for Wizards of the Coast. You've printed and cut nearly all of your stickers. You also created your template for your resume for Wizards. The finish line is almost here! Don't stop, you're so close.

School Related 

• Cartooning
  • Not much has changed for cartooning. I revised my beat board and started crafting the final scene of the comic. It needs to be very impactful.
• Illustration Materials and Tech.
  • You traced and finished coloring Tora. She came out rather nice.
  • You're still fiddling with Asglore's design.
  • The final scene is being crafted. You plan to sit down tonight and give it some more thought.

• Digital Illustration
  • You created c232 your C2E2 themed robot! You crafted some thumbnails for the editorial piece as a whole. You plan to cook two renditions.
  • You also created a few thumbnails considering the recent news with MTG x League of Legends. You wanted to create a scene that features Nami and Thassa.

Personal

• Hallow knights 
  • After sitting in your steam library for nearly a year you finally decided to open it up. Why the hell have you never opened it up before... who knows. All you know is you're probably going to be hyper focused on it during break. It's finally your time to relax a bit.
• Scrum Board is coming along
  • Your Scrum board is moving! Lots of stickers have been created and cut. Prints have been ordered, but Michaels counterweight is still waiting to be started... You'll get to it eventually.

Career

• Met with Jo'Nell
  • You had your meeting with your Career Advisor Jo'Nell. You touched upon what you should be doing this last home stretch before submitting your portfolio.
• Created two follow up meetings 
  • One meeting on November 30th and the next on December 6th. It's essentially one last chance for romance.
• Started on you application for Wizards of the Coast
