Missing Noel was a creation made for my Digital Illustration class. The goal was to bring modernity to an illustration from at least 100 years ago. I was inspired to recreate a version of Alphonse Mucha’s 1896 Noel. Inspired by the direction and flow of the original illustration, I recreated the same direction using the wings of the strix. The color choice was inspired from the original. I wanted to bring out the true complementary colors. Additionally, I created a light and delicate border to frame the work; similar to what Mucha would create.
