This illustration was created for an indie card called Trials of the Eldar. The client was looking for a card that evoked a powerful shield that has seen many wielders. The colors chosen were mainly focused on blue and orange, mimicking the colors similar to its paired paladin card. The shield is highlighted due to the position on the canvas, the light glow, and ornate details within the shield.
